Oral Contraceptive Pill (OCP) Resupply Consultation
States: NSW/ACT • VIC • SA • TAS • WA
Selected pharmacies can now provide eligible patients with a contraceptive pill resupply consultation, making it easier to access their regular medication without visiting a GP for a new prescription first.
A specially trained pharmacist will review your suitability and, if appropriate, provide a resupply of approved oral contraceptive pills.
If you’ve had a prescription for the pill within the last 2 years, you may be eligible for this service.
Please note that not all pill brands or contraceptive options are available.
Hormonal Contraception Consultation (QLD & TAS)
States: QLD • TAS
Trained Pharmacists in QLD and TAS can prescribe hormonal contraceptives without a prior doctor's consultation.
This means that you can obtain a prescription for a contraception that you are already on, or can be prescribed a contraceptive option for the first time.
To be eligible for a Hormonal Contraception consultation, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a woman or gender-diverse person with female biology
- In QLD, be aged between 16 to 50 years (inclusive)
- In TAS, be aged 16 years and older
