How Emla Skin Numbing Cream Works:
Emla
helps make your skin feel numb for a short time, blocking the pain signals from only the area of skin where the cream is applied.
Emla is a topical anaesthetic cream that contains lidocaine (lignocaine) and prilocaine. It is applied directly to the skin to help lessen the pain experienced during common skin laser treatments such as the removal of unwanted hair. Emla cream needs to be applied at least 1 hour before your procedure.

Emla Skin Numbing Cream is a topical anaesthetic cream that can be applied directly to your skin to temporarily numb the area before needle insertion, tattooing and minor superficial cosmetic procedures.

Emla Skin Numbing Cream is a topical anaesthetic cream that can be applied directly to your skin to temporarily numb the area before needle insertion, tattooing and minor superficial cosmetic procedures. Emla Numbing Cream contains two ingredients, lidocaine and prilocaine, which work together to block pain signals from reaching your nerves. This creates a numbing effect on the applied area that typically lasts for at least 2 hours, depending on the application and individual factors. Helps prevent the pain of laser hair removal, tattoo removal, needles, vaccinations and minor superficial cosmetic procedures. Includes 10 occlusive dressings Suitable for all ages (except for premature babies) No prescription required Also available in a 30g tube

"How to apply Emla Numbing Cream: 1. Wash and completely dry the area where the procedure will be done. 2. Squeeze out a sufficient amount of Emla numbing cream onto the target area. For needle procedures in adults this is about 2g. Don't rub it in – leave it as a thick layer. 3. Use the provided occlusive dressing or create your own with plastic wrap and tape. Make sure the cream is completely covered and the edges are sealed to prevent leakage. 4. Write down the application time on the dressing. Emla cream must be applied at least 60 minutes before the start of the procedure. 5. Remove the dressing and wipe away the cream with alcohol. For detailed instructions and additional information, visit the Emla website: https://www.emla.com.au/how-to-apply/" The amount of Emla cream required varies and will depend on the procedure, the surface being treated and your age.
