EllaOne is Australia's most effective emergency contraceptive pill (morning after pill) [1,2]
If you’ve had unprotected sex, the condom broke, or if you forgot to take your regularcontraceptive pill, you can help protect yourself from an unplanned pregnancy bytaking EllaOne, the most effective emergency contraception pill (morning after pill).1,2EllaOne is most effective when taken as soon as possible, but it can be used up to five days (120 hours) after unprotected sex.The emergency contraceptive pill works by inhibiting or delaying ovulation. This means that sperm are unable to fertilise the egg and a possible pregnancy is prevented. If you are already pregnant, however, then the emergency contraceptive pill won’t interrupt or impact your pregnancy.
