Cartia Duentric Coated Low Dose Aspirin 100 mg

Has your doctor recommended low dose aspirin for heart protection?
Consider a low dose aspirin with a Duentric coating, which is a feature not found in all low dose aspirins. Cartia’s specially formulated Duentric coating is designed to protect the stomach*.
Cartia Duentric coated aspirin 100 mg is a low dose aspirin designed to help prevent blood clotting and reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke in patients with known cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease.

Why choose Cartia?

ASPE

Enteric (Duentric) coating prevents the aspirin from being released in the stomach, where it could cause gastric upsets.

ASPE

Proven protection for secondary prevention of heart attack and stroke in patients with known cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease.

Manufactured in Dandenong, Victoria.

Understanding How Cartia’s Duentric Coating Works

Duentric coated aspirin refers to aspirin tablets that have a coating.
Duentric (enteric) coated means that the tablet has a protective layer designed to delay where the medicine dissolves, helping the tablet pass through the stomach before releasing the active ingredient.

By preventing the aspirin from being released in the stomach, Cartia’s Duentric coating means that absorption starts further along in the duodenum (upper part of the small intestines), where the aspirin is gradually absorbed into the bloodstream. This approach is designed to reduce direct contact with the stomach lining and reduce potential for irritation.

Cartia differs from uncoated low dose aspirin, which begins absorption in the stomach. Repeated direct contact between aspirin and the stomach lining has been associated with irritation in some people. It’s important to know that not all aspirin has a Duentric (enteric) coating and not all aspirin is suitable for long-term everyday use, so check with your doctor or pharmacist which is right for you.
