What is Azep Nasal Spray and how can it help?

Azep® Nasal Spray contains the active ingredient azelastine and is used to deliver fast and effective relief of hayfever symptoms including:

Sneezing
Itchy nose
Runny nose
Blocked nose

It's used for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal and non-seasonal allergic rhinitis / hayfever caused by allergies, such as to pollen, house dust mites or pet hair.1, 3

About Azelastine4

Azep® delivers antihistamine directly to where it’s needed – in the nose. The active ingredient, azelastine, is a second-generation, non-drowsy antihistamine with a triple mode of action.

Azelastine has an antihistamine effect, which reduces allergy symptoms, and an anti-inflammatory effect, which reduces swelling and inflammation.

It also stabilises mast cells, which stops them releasing chemicals that can cause inflammation and nasal congestion.

Can I take Azep Nasal Spray and Eyezep Eye Drops together?

Yes, they can be used together for the relief of nasal hayfever symptoms and red, itchy allergy eyes.
Both products contain the same antihistamine in different formulations and are used to relieve the below symptoms:

Azep Nasal Spray contains the active ingredient azelastine and is used to deliver fast and effective relief of hayfever symptoms including sneezing, itchy, runny and blocked nose. It’s rapid acting (within 15 minutes) and provides up to 12 hours of relief.

Use one spray of AZEP NASAL SPRAY in each nostril, every 12 hours as necessary. • Follow the instructions provided with the medicine. • Do not exceed the recommended dosage. • AZEP NASAL SPRAY can be used for up to 6 months for seasonal and non-seasonal allergies. AZEP NASAL SPRAY should be used only when necessary. Do not use a double dose to make up for the dose that you missed.

Do not use AZEP NASAL SPRAY if you have an allergy to AZEP NASAL SPRAY or any of the ingredients listed on the packaging. Always check the ingredients to make sure you can use this medicine. Do not give AZEP NASAL SPRAY to a child under 5 years, unless directed by the child’s doctor. Do not use AZEP NASAL SPRAY for longer than 6 months after the bottle was first opened.

Store below 30°C (Do not refrigerate). Shelf life: 3 years. In Australia, any unused medicine or waste material should be disposed of in accordance with local requirements. The expiry date can be found on the packaging.
