What is Souvenaid®?

Souvenaid® is a medical nutrition drink that contains a unique combination of nutrients known as Fortasyn® Connect. Souvenaid® provides the key nutritional building blocks to support the growth of brain connections.⁴ Taken daily for at least 6 months, Souvenaid® supports memory function in early Alzheimers disease.¹⁻³

The brain is home to billions of nerve cells known as neurons, which communicate with each other via connections called synapses.⁶ In a healthy brain, neurons constantly adjust or repair themselves, and their connections to other neurons – which includes strengthening or weakening their connections, or breaking connections with one group of neurons and forming new connections with another group.⁶

However, Alzheimer's disease progressively disrupts the way neurons communicate with each other in the brain, leading to a loss of connections and reduction in the numbers of these cells in the brain over time. This makes it more difficult for parts of the brain to work together as efficiently as before, resulting in symptoms such as memory loss, slowed thinking and behavioural changes.⁶ While this occurs at different speeds and severities for different people, the changes to your memory, thinking and behaviour will become more noticeable over time as the disease progresses.⁶

What we consume in our daily diet plays an important part in the process because the brain needs key nutrients – omega-3 fatty acids, phospholipids, choline, uridine monophosphate and B vitamins, to support the growth of synapses. Research has shown that people with Alzheimer’s disease including MCI often have low levels of some of these key nutrients including vitamins A, C, E, folate, and vitamin B12, Omega-3.⁷

Souvenaid® contains a unique combination of nutrients, called Fortasyn Connect®, to support the growth of synapses in the brain⁴ and has been proven to nutritionally support memory function in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease.¹⁻³
