You don’t need fancy foods to boost your immunity – here are a few everyday colourful favourites to strengthen your immune system this winter.

Red capsicums, carrots, peas, and broccoli

Brightly coloured and loaded with vitamin A, these are a fantastic addition to salads, stir-fries, and soups.

Vitamin A is important for immune system function and helps keep skin healthy. Vitamin A can also be found in eggs, and some fortified milk products.

Oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit

Packed with vitamin C, these citrus fruits are perfect for boosting immunity and fighting off winter colds.

Bananas and apricots

These foods are full of potassium which is essential for proper nerve and muscle function. Potassium also helps control blood pressure and prevent kidney stones.

Spinach

Spinach is a powerhouse, packed full of many of the nutrients our bodies need to stay healthy, including vitamin K, which is essential for healthy bones and wound healing.

Blueberries and strawberries

Frozen or fresh, blueberries1 and strawberries are rich in antioxidants that help protect your cells and support immune health.

Add them to oatmeal or yoghurt for a tasty treat.
