Know your triggers and avoid them

Read product labels on cleansers and other products

Look for terms such as sensitive skin, soap, colour or fragrance free, hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested

Moisturisers; consider using a heavier cream or ointment at night

Cotton-lined rubber gloves when washing dishes or cleaning

Fragrance-free clothes washing liquid

Natural fibres - especially cotton, silk or linen - in clothing and sheets

Protect your skin from extreme weather with soft, long-sleeved clothing

Treat any underlying skin conditions (e.g., eczema, rosacea, allergic contact dermatitis, contact urticaria)
