Add these eight moisturising steps to your night-time routine, to keep your skin supple and moisturised throughout the winter months.

1.    Cleanse

An unmissable first step to help remove oil, dead skin cells and the remains of the day’s makeup and sunscreen from your face and neck. Oil-based, cream, foaming and exfoliating cleansers are available. If unsure, ask your Pharmacist which suits your skin type.

2.    Tone

Modern toners help your skin shed leftover grime and prepare it to better absorb the goodness in other products. They may include ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, which can aid in hydration1. Use a cotton pad or your hands to apply.

3.    Serum

These are gel-like and rich in active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to target dryness, dullness or other skin concerns1,2. Just a few drops to your face and neck are enough.

4.    Eyes

The skin around our eyes is thinner and needs an extra dose of care. Use your ring or little finger to gently apply eye cream, being careful not to exert too much pressure on this fragile area.

5.    Night cream

Finish with a night cream to help protect your skin barrier, hydrate and lock in the benefits of your other products! Its heavier texture is absorbed overnight as you sleep.

6.    Lips

Days in air-conditioning or outside in the wind and sun can result in dry, uncomfortable chapped lips! Help them out with a nourishing lip balm.

7.    Hands

Rewards them for all the work they do each day, by massaging in a soothing hand cream. Don’t forget to work it into the cuticles to help avoid ragged nail beds!

8.    Legs and arms

Dry skin is quick to appear on our limbs, especially during the cooler months. If you can, apply your body moisturiser to slightly damp skin to help it absorb more better.
